New York Wine And Grape Foundation

Based in Canandaigua, the New York Wine & Grape Foundation is a statewide not-for-profit trade association representing  New York grape growers, grape juice producers and wineries. The Foundation was created by State Legislation in 1985 and the organization’s strategic goal is to have the New York grape and wine industry recognized as a world leader in quality, productivity and social responsibility.

The Canadian office coordinates a number of promotional activities every year designed to educate and inform media, trade and consumers about the quality and diversity of products available from New York. Activities include meetings with Liquor Boards across the country, high end dinners with media and restaurateurs, as well as participation in third-party wine shows and festivals.

New York is the third-largest wine producing region in America. Compared to Europe’s wine regions, New York Wine Country is massive in size as it covers over 800km from Eastern Long Island to the state’s western border with Pennsylvania. New York State is home of over 320 wineries, with 37,000 grape bearing acres and more than 35 different grapes varieties.
